an easy to remember phone number is way better than an easy to remember name, (although, with internet, names are catching up)

some general advise

1. start slow, do this at night, on weekends, days off, don't jump into it, step into it. the time to quit your other job is when you are constantly turning away business because you dont have time.

2. involve close family in your business, you will need all the support you can get,

3. micro manage every aspect of you business at first, do not use payroll agencies, or billing services until you know how everything works inside and out

4. partnerships are very hard, and often turn ugly

5. be prepared to work long hours, with the tank cleaning think I would bet most offices would rather you come in at night with a cleaning crew, fill a nitch

6. it often takes over 5 years for small businesses to make any money

office aquariums

are you planning on selling them the tanks and fish and then maintaining them or renting the systems and fish to them?

two very different ideas. i personaly would go with system and fish rental because it would lower a businesses intial cost of having an aquarium and also create a higher and more stable income.

i beleive that many people would be turned off from having a great and big aquarium if it cost them thousands up front and then maintenance on top of that rather than a couple hundred a month.

you could offer rotating stocking if you owned the fish. so a office could have a set of fish for a couple of months and then pic out a different stocking list for the next couple months.

(not that i have ever thought of opening my own business)
