Setup another tank for exodons. Don't quit or sell your fish. Expand your hobby!

I sold my wolffish, I regret it everyday. I think I would pass up my AGTF, rays and everything I have to get him back. Just spend the extra money and get another tank so its something new and that way you can still keep your fish. Think about it.

I would agree I just bought a new tank recently did it all over for my discus and setup a new tank for rays and to me I think the rays are much more interesting then anything I've kept they are really cool just try to find something that will always peek your interest I could just sit and watch my ray all day they are just so amazing to me once you find something that will peak your interest constantly the feeling will go away

I agree with everybody else, this feeling happens to all of us at one time or another and it usually is because you haven't found your niche in the hobby. I also know how hard it can be to move on to new fish. You try to sell them and then are very wary of who buys them because you raised them and want them going to a owner as diligent as you where. You even make requests to buyers like keep me updated so I can see how your fish is doing in his new home. Often times you wind up giving up the pet never realizing you where taking them for granted until they're gone.

As hard as moving on is it's sometimes for the best. When your pets become a chore instead of a joy we tend to neglect them and then they either die or get sick and your filled with regret over your neglect. Find what it is that makes you happy about the hobby. For me recently it's about harmony and trying to have a eye pleasing set-up. I've found that I like looking at my tank more and that motivates me to stay on top of maintenance so it stays pleasing to the eye as well as gives me a sense of personal accomplishment and self expression(shallow I know, doing it for me not as much for the fish but it's the truth in my case). Believe it or not there's more than one reason to keep fish you just have to find yours.

I am in a bit of a rut myself. So what I do is overhaul a tank. Get new fish for it and sell off some other stock. Ex. My mixed case/sa cichlid tank I tore down. I moved my small community tank into the 125gal were the others were and I am going to sell a lot of stock. I think in my case I am going to drop a tank to leave me three tanks for now. I just have to figure out what I am going to do with my 40 breeder...maybe a mala or something. I suggest something to that effect, but keep your gar. I am keeping all my gars, I slid some gars before and I regretted it. Just do something not to the norm and you'll rejuice.

I know the feeling I thought of quitting the hobby a few times and when I had no choice but to sell my tank to help pay bills it was the worst choice I ever made. I say if you really feel like quitting take a few days always from the hobby and see where you stand then. I know when I took a short break I was itching to get a tank and ended up walking two hours in the rain to the local thrift store and bought a used 15.

Maybe if possible setup a smaller 20G just for a planted exodon tank :)
