Hey all,

sorry i think i posted it in the wrong section before.

Have been reading this website for quite a while and man its just unreal. Certainly broadening your vision on what you can do with ur tanks for sure. In the next 12 months i would like to setup a 10x3x3 glass tank for my new house. Currently i have a 8x2x2.5 stored away but i kinda wanted the 10 footer so i can house a couple of arowanas for life as the 8 footers may only be good for a short while. Just wondering if its hard or safe enough to build your own 10 foot tank bearing in mind that i have never built one before. The reason why i ask is that i can get hooked up with the glass pre-drilled and cut by a glass company for basically manufacturing cost but i have never built a tank before. Obviously with a tank of that size i don't want it exploding as it will be the main show piece in my lounge room acting as a room divider. Also where would you drill your holes for the sump as i want all things hidden away.

Cheers :headbang2

Hi there
Welcome here, it is certainly possible(imho):) but it would require very careful planning, have a look at this website, If you google diy aquarium plans you will find lots of information. just bear in mind the weight of the aquarium your are planning(foundation must be able to support it).

There members here who have build large ones they will help you.
