Yes mate, under 10" or so the mortality rate of raising tigs is not great. It's all about the diet. My last one was so small when I got it the only safe way to bring it on was in a tank of neons! Salty, high calorie foods are a big no no.

Beautiful Tig.Ive never kept these, but reading your comments about feeding-id imagine they come from fast-flowing areas? Would a really powerful flow to swim against, balance out over-feeding with protein?

Marvin ~ What are you doing to get that tig to grow so crazily!?! Thats awesome man!!!

How are you keeping it? Tank, parameters, filtration? I am wanting to get one, but can only afford the smaller ones. From what I've been reading and hear say it seems the smaller ones are more difficult to raise to adulthood. Needless to say I am cautious about taking the plunge. Any tips would be appreciated!

Again, your fish keeping skills are astounding! Congrats on an amazing fish!

nice fish gotta love the tigs.. and i have both tiger shovelnose and tigrinus.. love them both but the tigrinus has it hands down.. keep it up you'll have a monster on your hands
