yeah thats normal eel behavior my eel (was eaten) eeliott likes plants and rocks alot he would play with me by popping up thru the cracks and id hand feed him sob

I think my eel is just abnormal if everyone else's does this, cause my eel just hides behind the rocks in my tank a lot. He doesn't even bury himself like I hear eels like to do a lot.

That is a good call, though. A gash is never good and it's a good thing you kept him from harming himself any further. Very good call on your part.

good call on blocking it. my dragon goby did the same thing so we blocked it off. he never did it again

Dont worry bout the hamsters. I got him an even BIGGER wheel to say sorry. And yea eels hiding is really normal because they are predators. And dont D.gobies get huge? That would kinda be an awkward fit. lol

And the gash is recovering very well. You can still tell its there but its healing nice.
