I bought it from Gage as 100% vented male... but I was doing a water change right now and decided to drop it in with the big festae female to see what happened since "he" is so aggressive... and its pelvic fins turned black...:irked:

What size did u buy it at? How big now? Don't hold ur breath yet, its not showing signs of either sex atm. Try get pic of side shot

I think it's a female......pretty much like Jason said it's not a sure thing at that size. Let us know what it turns out to be, let me know if my guess is right.

Lol I meant another side shot. The dark pelvic fins isn't always a give away, just like the dark dorsal fin for festae. I had a male that I swore was female because of dark pelvic fins and it showed a yellow base color when I had it divided with a pair. It turned out to be male tho. Yeah unless u can vent it, you might be waiting until its 6" before it starts showing true colors

My male was in a tank with (what I thought) 6 females. Waiting for him to choose his mate. All of them showed the dark fins (other than the for sure male). After he chose his mate I removed the other 5. Two of them turned out to be male, and didnt show signs, color or finage until I removed them from the dominant male. They both were around 6 inches. So, yours may still be a male, and if Gage vented it as a male I would trust him. He has been 100% successful with me so far. And I have purchased a lot of fish from him.
