This is a female Umbee right?

When my males were aound 4-6" had black with a little bit of blue on the pelvic fins but as they grow up it started turning blue so who knows? If you can see black on the dorsal fins thats a 100% give away but as far as pelvic fins it can go either way cause my umbees both had dark pelvic fins and they grew out to be males and the pelvic fins eventually turned super dark blue.

My male was in a tank with (what I thought) 6 females. Waiting for him to choose his mate. All of them showed the dark fins (other than the for sure male). After he chose his mate I removed the other 5. Two of them turned out to be male, and didnt show signs, color or finage until I removed them from the dominant male. They both were around 6 inches. So, yours may still be a male, and if Gage vented it as a male I would trust him. He has been 100% successful with me so far. And I have purchased a lot of fish from him.

great advice! wish more people on this forum were as helpful as you mate.
What i can gather from that is that your umbee probably showed submissive colours when in with the larger festae

Okay I didn't know the black pelvic fins were present on both sexes. On all the old threads I read they used that as a sexing method. Guess I'll vent again to be 100% sure. thanks all
