I personally think piscivores aren't nearly as susceptible to thiaminase problems as other fish that aren't primarily fish eaters in the wild...thats just me though.

That's definitely worth an experiment over. Now someone just has to be willing to spend the time to do it :)

If i;m not mistaken thiaminase causes a drop in vitamin D uptake or processing, is that true?

I've kept many Ranchu's before in a outside pond. Till a family of Racoon's found them to be very delicious..

That is unfortunate. They look delicious though don't they? So plump and juicy. :)
