IME yes, all you need is one dog to find deer, unless your hunting boar you only need one dog.

To broaden my point, my experiences with guys with packs (for deer) goes to about 5 different men. 3 of which had a bad case of little man complex (I was taller then them at 15), the other 2 idk but they all trained their dogs to be mean, not pets. I don't see a point in having a pack of vicious dogs, unless like I said, you hunt boar. Even then when I'm down south most of the boar dogs I see are good pets too. Even got growled at for picking up my cousins baby. Maybe I haven't met the right person around here yet but that seems to be the paradigm

Yeah where I hunt about an hour south of me is where all these dudes live, anyone I know in the immediate area only uses one dog, then again all the hunters I know around here are bowmen. I just really don't see a point in running a pack to hunt deer in WNY haha. Its not that crazy around here. Especially to someone who was brought up to be stealthy and sneaky w/ a bow. A pack of crazy dogs and some dude w/ a shotgun doesn't sit well w/ me haha
