You don't want to catch the sockeye when they're about to spawn like that. Nasty.

Seems like Alaska and BC the only places left with salmon. Our Washington runs have been just dismal the last couple years.

The Skagit river on odd years 2009,2011,2013 etc has incredible runs of Humpies, but as you stated "Nasty". I wouldn't keep any, but you can catch em all day long.

I always end up snagging humpies when I'm steelheading, and then I feel bad.
