I hear ya and try this one on for size;at my gig if you want to join the response team chances are you will not be accepted if you have had too many incidents in which you had to file a use of force report..if you have nobuse of force filings then you are a shoo in lol. It's all about negotiations and deescalation as far as the higher ups are concerned.
There was some protest in town yesterday and we emptied out and reserved an entire one hundred plus capacity pod just for those who might actually being arrested so they could all be housed together and not placed with other offenders who are in custody.....I heard that one woman sat in the middle of an intersection to get her point across.
Man i am one of those statistics lol i was removed (kicked out actually) from my unit for what was deemed excessive AMOUNTS of UOF. Not that any one of them individually were excessive and all were clean just the amount. That particular supervisor was promoted to chief HER replacement well HE had the old frame of mind put me right back where i belonged. Unfortunately he later was forced to retire or accept disciplinary charges for the way he ran our particular facility. Funny though serious staff injuries drastically fell under his leadership.....agh thats the times we live in lol
