awesome setup. removing the rock was probably a smart move, but why the sand? this tank looks so natural and I think bare bottom ruins it. I know it's easier to clean but a light colored sand is'nt much harder. anyway, great looking fish.

After my retic stingray went to fishy heaven, I was so pissed to find so much crap stuck in the rocks I just removed everything. Plus my stingray before he died lost it's barb and I wasn't going to sift through the sand to find the poisonous needle in the haystack! I am trying to figure out a system where I can compartmentalize the crap to a general area to be able to syphyn out but have been swamped with work.

Still in debate on leaving it bare bottom, however, the peace of mind of a cleaner tank out weighs the "natural" look. I might add HD led to light up the fish from the bottom, tiles, drill, I dunno. All and all, i am going to need a bigger boat in a few more months with how fast everything is growing. Ally gar went from pencil size to mini dodger bat in 4 months!

Any suggestion welcome!! I am really new to the hobby.

Wow awesome tank...I know how you feel I'm so tempted to go bare bottom once again

Thanks lots of time and miles driven to get all these bad boys!! I loathe syphoning the crap and sand together, then having to gold pan the crap out every day. The best thing I did was to suspend the driftwood and powerhead the crap so it gets to one corner.
