Reminds me of something I saw on the Life series on Discovery Channel. There is a species of pelican that has resorted to a comparable kind of behavior due to over fishing of its normal prey. Now the pelicans fly to another island and eat the chicks of another water bird. They bring back the partially digested chicks that are still alive to their own babies. Insane!
