This is the BEST fishing story ever: 6 foot nile perch and fighting off a croc!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Monster fish. I would have given the Nile croc the fish and got out of there . He is lucky when the croc jumped it didnt grab him those are not reptiles to be played with.

That is a big a** fish. Can you imagine what it would cost to have it mounted? And then the conversation piece that it will create? And the wall spaced needed to display it?

I'm guessing the fish is dead? Why didn't he release it.........
Considering that the Nile Perch is a kind of Snook (Same with Barras) there is a LOT of good meat on that thing. Besides, if the fish rolled on its side, and was bring pursued by a Nile Croc, it's pretty much a lost cause. Although I would've loved to see that big boy swim free as well.

Welcome back havent seen you in a while.

"So..... I caught this huge fish & had to fight off a croc of unknown size & then had to go find a random Safari Lodge in the african bush to get help (its cool, I do it all the time...), so I tied the massive dead fish to a tree, cuz, you know, I can lift it... and no animals will mess with it if its attached to a tree. Strangely enough, the only people I could find at the lodge were some scraggly looking whitebread dudes like me... one of the dudes was barefoot & chilling with his girl (she was no help) & I'm reasonably sure the other 2 were drunk. We took this great picture, but then we thought the shadows needed to look a bit more fake, so... you know... how was your vacation?"

Not a mark on the fish, despite the death-roll it took, not a scratch on him, no fishing guide with his pasty Irish a** in the Nile River, then an unplanned walkabout into the bush to get help, while his giant fish & dinky little motor boat sit unattended? I'll wait for IGFA confirmation before I buy this story...

EDIT: Why do the Safari-Lodge helper guys look like my old frat brothers? Not exactly dressed for Safari... or nighttime in Africa period...

look at the tail portion it does look like a tiny dent ring to it  never said once how big the croc was maybe it was a tiny little guy....making it farfetched?

maybe the "help" isn't considered people. that happens.

If I caught this fish I would keep it too, no one would believe him if he released it. Also the croc would have got it, and depending on where he was it might not have been native anyway. Lake Victoria fish populations were distroied by there introduction.
