Well if it helps at all, it had a semi-happy ending. All but one of the puppies turned up a bit of a distance down river, shaked and wet but otherwise okay. But still, you gotta wonder what drives someone to do that.


(Don't breeders cull puppies by tying them to bricks and throwing them into swimming pools? F-ed up...)

Actually the old lady that said she found the puppies was actually paid by the family of the girl from all the backlash of the video. It was proofed as the markings on the puppies compared to the video and the pics of the puppies from the old woman were wrong. So no, none of the puppies were found and i actually dont know the outcome of it even though i know charges were pressed. Hope she got whats he deserved.

About the puppy incident. I heard she got fined all this money and some people form 4chan were looking to harm her someway. Hiring someone to hurt or kill her. It's a rumor I heard. I am not sure though.

Im not even going to watch it, the pain and anger it would cause me would give me nigthmares for a mouth Its a complete shame any healty animal or otherwise fit animal is culled, but when is from a species so close to us is simply devastating and heart breaking

You can look at the pet trade. How many animals die year in and out to satisfy our need to keep them in our homes? There have been a few cases of herps being collected to point of near extinction from the wild! Who's buying those? These teenagers bashing the hell out of this snake? Nope, we are!

You can point a finger, but do realize there's 3 more pointed back at you.

I generally agree by what you said however, the times the reptile trade overcolected a species is completly dwarfed by habitat destruction, leather and food trades. There are many cases of formely very rare species that are nowadays comon or at least with its continual existence assured due to captive breeding programs that far surpass the ones of any zoo. That is one big advantage. The hobby has becomed a big Noah´s Ark in many situations. However you are absolutley rigth in that there are a woule butch of edges to trim and things that should be completly diferent. I shure hope we as human beings and the most inteligent species in the planet, can come up with solutions not only for the pet trade but also for so many aspects of human life that harm the envioroment. In the case of the pet trade, I think that is actually a great chance for us to become better persons and that is actually one of the key aspects of having a pet, bring out the best in us.
