When I opened the glass lid, with just a split second my 12" crossback jumped right out from his tank and this is what happened. He lost 80% of his caudal fin, 15% anal fin and cut off his right barbel in half. My heart sanked, I panicked and got so pissed. Then I felt so sorry for him after I saw his condition. I never thought that my crossback will do this in such a young age. What choice do I have? Its done. I'm just happy that he's alive. Water parameters are good. PH=7, ammonia-0, nitrite-0. I raised the water temp to 30 degrees celsius, added some aquarium salt, melafix, turned the lights off for 24 hrs and prayed to God that all his missing fins will grow back to normal. I hope that he recuperates fast.
What else can I do? any suggestions will be appreciated.
My apologies for the dirty glass.
