  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
all life does this, and perhaps livability was the wrong word.:)

Not the same as we do. Like i said before we have control over our basic instincts for the most part animals do not. Even our dogs have trouble with this

what u talkin' bout Willis?

My fish are always excavating and building onto their pad ;)
I dknt know pops started us down this path ;)

Yeah but do they donate food to the poor, try and discuss their differences before ripping each others face off, perform comlpicated surgeries on each other, do they apologize for their mistakes ?

Ok ok this animal is higher up the evolutionary food chain than me. You guys were right

Ok we all learned that in second grade.

Let me be more specific do you think the follwing are of equel value between the following animals... human or any other animal you can think of

We may have learned it in second grade, but most of us don't believe it.

ok, then yes. if I had to run into a burning building and save either hitler or my dog, I would save my dog.

Some of us do. If we all did there would be no such thing as crimes of passion. but the same can be said of animals. There are many dogs who's natural instinct is to chase after that squirrel but have been taught it's not an acceptable behavior in all instances. When they're loose in the backyard it's fun and games time. Walking on the leash, not acceptable.

It's funny, but you just explained yourself to the point of the first post you quoted.
People who say sentience is the sole domain of humanity are wrong. Sentience is not on or off, it's a matter of degree amongst many creatures.
You ask about giving food to others. Do you know some plants do that? Some species of plants will reduce their root growth when surrounded by their seed mates.
Wolves share food with the rest of the pack. They also have societal ways of solving disagreements, as do many other animals do so they don't damage each other. Humans often kill each other in disputes.

There was a thread a while back that got on a similar topic. I was asked If I was trapped on a desert island would I save my dog or a stranger and I had commented it depends on the person, as long they weren't a threat to society I would to try to save the human, if only one could be saved.
