Your wife should understand that when it comes time to upgrade you are going to be dropping 1k-2k on a setup like this.

You would be saving money in the long run.

This is the problem within, her logic: There is no need to "upgrade", the tank you have is plenty big enough and you should be happy with the fish and tanks that you have.

It's like a no win, but maybe I can come up with something.

Can you try what I did? I told my wife, after we upgrade to a bigger tank I can sell the old tank and stand. It kinda worked.

I did that to get where I am now. I would have to sell my tank BEFORE getting the other tank. Also I would have to get additional filtration and put a bit of work into it before I could set it up. Also would need a stand....

So, about this wife thing... Your wife needs to realize that marriage is about happiness, and not about watching life pass you by. My wife buys all the shoes she wants, and I don't give her grief about it. I buy all the fish stuff I want, and she doesn't bother me about it. Part of marriage is the enjoyment of seeing your significant other enjoy their days doing what they love. Maybe you should let her know that.

Maybe she's jealous of the fact that Kevin spends more time with his fish than he does with her.

Easy remedy: Stik her in the fish tank so you can watch her too. (jk).

Begging sometimes works. $150.00 and your dignity is still a good deal on a 300g tank. j/k

Clay:
You have a very strong resolution to his delema, but it isn't always viewed in the same light by most women, as you may see it. Where you may seem to see happiness, joy and comfort in your way of reasoning, others may see it as a way to constant termoil, hostilities and poverty.
