WHAT!!!
That's INSANE... people will remember the Beatles a hundred years after they stop making music. I doubt anyone will remember the Jonas Brothers in 20 years.
That's possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

They kinda are. Early Beatles music was just generic pop. If you dont think their fanbase was in it for their looks go back and check out the magazines and videos and all the other inane memorabilia that got their name slapped on it.
The only question is will the JBs grow and be the Beatles or stagnate and be the Monkees? Pop is pop. I honestly think if the Beatles hadn't started the way they did and just tried to be "serious musicians" they wouldve faded into obscurity like all the other boy bands of the day. Kinda hard to become cultural icons without the hordes of screaming girls buying everything you put out.

that's like saying Usher is the next Michael Jackson

people were even saying Chris Brown was the next Usher. don't think so

Since when did a cookie cutter band equal talent?

This seems to be the trend lately. Hopefully music that requires skill to create will become popular some time in the future. Until then, my playlist will continue to have bands that have never even seen "the charts".
