for 4 Hours? I would pull him out and try to remove the fish. Unless he seems to be slowly eating it. Hows his breathing? does he look stressed? I would say if it's been 4 hours remove it though. but be carefull.

that's the tricky part. The only thing I have had to remove from a fishes mouth is a big rock. (stupid goldfish)

When a fish eats another fish head first all the scales and fins are only ment to go one way. they are not mad to turn back around and be "pulled" out. And you do not have much time to do this bc you don't want to fish out of the water any longer then it has to be.

If you are going to do this. this is what I personally would do but don't take my word on it that it will work.

Get some longer tweesers or anything long and slim that you can get inside the Pbasses mouth to move the "feeders" fins around so they don't get stuck. If they get stuck they could very well puncture the basses throat or gills and result in his death.

Slowly pull the feeder out and make sure you're constanly watching the fins of the feeder and move then when needed.

I know it's a horrible discription of what you need/ should do but no one else has commented yet.

If you got someone there that can help you that would be great. A set of hands to hold the bass and a set to remove the fish.

If he doesn't seem stressed let it go a little more but after 4 hours has it moved into his mouth anymore then when you originally saw it? or does it seem to not be going anywhere?

im goning to give him till 630 if theres no change in how much he swallowed i think ill be doing some surgery

How big is the fish? Can it be removed through the gills? Or is it to big to pull through the gills?

If so I would get some scissors and cut the Dorsal fin as far into the mouth of the cichla as the scissors will go without hitting the back.. Then pull the fish out... OR.. Another proven way is to grab the tail of eatin fish and twist the fish while pulling gently the fish should come out fairly easily with minimal damage to the Cichla.
