Chinese were elite sailors to my knowledge, correct? If this is the case, I have no doubts they may have landed.

If I remember the documentary right, they speculated that the Chinese had the advantage over a lot of the sailors worldwide due to the invention of the compass. I don't think the Chinese had spread the use of the compass to other lands during this time and since they are the only ones had access to it, navigating the seas would have been easier.

Wikipedia says compass was invented over 1700 years ago.

newfies are from another planet. some info

most get transplanted around canada to work (specially in AB) so everyones familiar.
"generally", they possess a totally unique dialect and outlook. free spirits for sure.

in canada, newfie jokes are like blonde jokes, everyone knows some and everyone hears em.

the documentary said the Chinese came and probably traded and explored but that was all.

No real settlement in North America.

Yes I read into this.

The chinese Junk ship was also quite the sailing vessel. I dont have a doubt in my mind, they didnt land. Quite amazing stuff.

Also, that viking movie looks hilarious... Completely incorrect, but an epic fantasy no doubt.

I will watch it.

For a damn good viking movie that depicts factual vikings and their ways of life I present a rare find-
