My favorite F-ing fish hit bit the dust today! I just sold one cause they were fighting to much. After a 50% water change he started acting weird (Normal H2o change every 4 days for since I bought him) and died about 10 hrs later.
I noticed he had a dark spot under his belly. I don't think it was the water cause I think one of his tankmates would of died first. No one acted weird except my dogg?

Which fish is the most fragile in order that I have????

1. Comm. Pleco 3"
2. Red Tail Payara 8.25"
3. VATF 6"
4. Motoro pup 4" Disk
5. Spotted Gar 9.5"

Thats what I thought... So I don't think it was the water change. He probly picked up a parasite that I never seen. Although he ate like Normal?!
I guess I have to visit All Happy Aquarium for another VATF since these are my favorite fish:D
But it still sucks:cry:

I lost mine kind of the same way. I was transfering the ATF to a holding tank which contained 100% water from the aquarium he was in that was just transfered into the holding tank so there would be no issues and whamo...dead ATF for no good reason all id 1 hour. Crappy he was almost a foot long and getting really nice.
 
in my experiences, payara are the most fragile. if something goes wrong with my water, the vamps are the first to start acting different. then the rays. ive had problems with medications b4 that killed all the fish in the tank except for my VATF. so that tells me they are very hardy. it had to have had some sort of parasite or infection.

Cool, I thought he was in 2nd place (Tat) as far as fragile. The only Med I use is for the Tap water. And I use around the amount that the "Prime" says.

Depending on size, they range from $50.00 (2-3") to 8-10" ($80.00 at a good deal).
I'm going to get mine from All Happy Aquarium. Every fish I have ever bought from him, is still alive. Hopefuly I can get a deal:D

I just thought about it right now.... I added a huge amount of Ceramic Rings in the Sump. You think that might have killed him? I added the Rings the night before, So maybe the Rings and the water change was to much for him?? Yay/Nay?
