Let's hope Dr Joe has right.That was my thought as well, fish are often placed in tiny tanks to get photosSure he's not just in there for pictures? It's very clean and there's nothing even around the tank. We can always hope.
You should see the aro at the oriental restaurant I go to, 22" ? in maybe a 90g.

Dr. Axelrod even had custom tanks that were only a few inches wide with a back piece that sloped to the front to position the fish for pics.
i know you should see the knows more about fish than me guy i work withs tanks he has 3 12 inch oscars in a 55 with a tetra power filter way to small. the hith is prob the worst i have ever seen. and he does a small water change once a month 5 to 10 gallons

Could it be a quarantine tank? Maybe he's treating the Aro with medications. If mine was sick and I needed to treat him, I'd put him in my 30 for a day or two.
On the other hand, I suppose if he was using it for quarantine and he had a sick Aro, he probably wouldn't be selling it. Who know... but I don't like to think of that Aro living like that all the time... so I'll go with presuming innocence.

His tank must be disgusting! My tank is overstocked at the moment (getting the new one soon, don't worry
) and I change 30 - 40% EVERY week! Even at that, the wool is real dirty after the week is up and needs to be changed as well.3 big Os in a 55? 5-10G changed a month? little filter? eeeewwwww!
I found these tank pics on Taiwan's Yahoo site whilst looking for a second hand tank for a small marine setup that I wanna get going. The tank's dimensions are 24"x12"x18" (LxWxH) and it has a jardini in it!
I don't agree after seeing this and comparing to your pics. I beleive this is what was happening..Check it out actually has some educated answer. And is very informative as well!!
