ive got a male that flashes intensely anytime the female afra get near. he gets sooo pretty with those colors. like ya said right b4 your eyes.

I wish i could tell you but since i only have only the one i do not know for sure ..but no i see no aggression with him.. he stands up but never chases anyone .. he is brave but not into trouble.. when i take his pic he always looks straight at me.. i really really enjoy this fish..my favorite has always been the venustus but this guy is making me want more of them.. i don't even know what a female looks like because if i did come across one i would certainly grab it up... i have to do more research because now that i know for sure how great i feel about him i will even order them if i have too.

I have seen and heard about these in mbuna tanks. They are also aggressive, maybe even a little more so that mbuna. But I don't think there would normally be an issue. Sometime you may have a single fish that is a real jerk, but in most cases, should probably do fine around mbuna that can defend themselve. 99% chance it will be the dominant male of the tank.
