It's that time again...

Customer: I hear a banging noise coming from rear of truck
Me: Ok let me take a look. Yeah your spring shackle rotted away and leafspring is banging on bed. Also your frame is about to snap in half. Time to retire the truck.
Customer: bahhh just change shackle I have to pick up wood pellets.
Me: your truck will not support the weight of the pellets.
Customer: fine I'll bring it elsewhere.

An hour later truck is towed in loaded with wood pellets and no brake pressure. Axle came up and smashed frame sheared it almost in half.

If that were some of my customers (and its sounds almost like them) he'd have come in looking for a piece of rubber fuel line and a couple clamps to get him "by".

Thursday was the coldest day of the year. We were short staffed and I personally installed 10 batteries. When we install batteries its in the parking lot, parts stores dont have bays. It was negative 28f and the state had declared a state of emergency. A couple of the batteries had the usual corrosion and rusted hold downs that slows the process. So I came back in to warm up and actually had the customers get mad at me for doing so. Oh btw we dont charge or except tips for installing batteries or wiper blades. One "lady" asked me what the hell I was doing.....and then told me to hurry it up. She got a refund and no new battery. She was really confused then. I got to talk to corporate about it and my DM sent out an email saying he knows its cold but we still have to do it. I replyed with yup and was doing it until someone got snotty. Lol.
