i was wondering if anyone has recently kept these? i just picked up 7 of these beautiful fish. i am looking for breeding info/profile and the stuff i am reading contradicts other info so any hands on would be super helpful! thanks!!

They are very much like firemouths. They are found in the same waters naturally, and live in groups like firemouths do. Buying a group like that is best to get a pair. They like a ph of 7+ and temps in the low-mid 70s F.

Had a two pair a few years ago. The never spawned for me though. IME these guys are all bark and no bite. Still one of my favorite Thorichthys. They do sift for food much like Astatheros so I recommend sand and sinking pellets.

Lol, I have one. Not sure, but I think it has paired up with my Firemouth. They always hang out together and seem to like harassing my convict together :)
