i will probbaly get several 5-6 and them keep the pair once one forms and get rid of the rest. just keep the pair of elliottis and get some sowrd tails like mentioned above. i like that ideal...

Hey BarleyPop: Do me a favor and look into the swordtail thing a little bit. I'm throwing it out there from memory, and don't want to give you bad advice. So please double check...I will try to find the article and put the link in here for you too.

Good luck! I've considered the Mixteco's before too but never got any. Would LOVE to see em when you get em.

if worried about breeding get 4-6 males.
 
Ok I looked all over that other forum and couldn't find the thread I was talking about, BUT, I did find a couple posts where the guy did mention keeping the swordtails. Not only Swordtails but also platties were in his FM tank. Says its been working well for years.
