Thorycthys Meeki-Cichlasoma Festae with pics.

I have a 100g tank that i am stocking. I have some convicts in that tank. About a month ago i added a 3" Festae witch i think is male. And last saturday i added a Firemouth male in the tank at 2.5".
This didnt come as quite a shock to me but the Festae literally HATES the Firemouth. He is alright with the cons but he is furious about the Firemouth. The first night in the tank the Festae beated the Firemouth up a little, cousing his colours to fade. I took the Festae, put him in my 20g. Senegalus growout, he got all stressed up. I changed the setup in the 100g and put him back in today, now the Firemouth feels like theres a burglar in his house and there has been alot of fighting since then. But im not stressed, just some normal casa (CA/SA) behaviour.

He washed out that day because the Festae was beating on him

So are we allowed to place bets on how many days or weeks it's going to be until the Firemouth gets the absolute crap beaten out of it?

^ i agree they are all bark no bite, and they are cowards. Great fish but do not do well at all with largr cichlids untill they are full size. And with him being smaller than the festae who is larger and more aggro he will become very shy and introverted. lol but you never know. most likely tho the firemouth will just get picked on A LOT. But on a different note, lol that festae has good colors for a younger fish. She will look really nice when she is older.

i've never owned a firemouth yet but i'll agree with four days. festae are mean mo'fos. both are your fish are great looking btw.
