Before I begin adding water to the tank.

huh i always thought your water had to be fully dechlorinated before adding to the tank. i also waited 15 min after adding dc to water before dumping the buckets in. i guess i need to get a python now that i know how it works!

It can depend on your water source... if you have really "potent" water i'de def eree on the side of caution.. but its pretty rare. If your just treating straight tap and not adding any buffering agents ect then your prolly fine with the python set-up. I know I'de do it the old fashioned bucket method if i was useing PH stabilizers ect... but i'm pretty picky about takeing care of my fish.

I add it as soon as I start adding fresh water in. I typically leave the siphon hose in while I let the fresh water go in and I've never had a problem
