Thought I had with ro

Btw if your RO is producing clean r/o at a 1:1 ratio ? How is it set up as the avg is 1:4 ... 1 gal ro to 4 gals rejected water ..

I've never measured it. All I was saying is that if he were to set up an ro system in a loop on his tank, it would quickly drain his tank. I'm not entirely sure at what rate it would drain it, but I think we agree it would be fast enough to be a significant concern.

From my limited knowledge on the mechanics of an ro system, it seems that lower inlet water pressure produces more waste water.

I have no problem with the term "waste water". The ro unit performs a task. The ro water it produces is it performing that task. Any byproduct of that would be waste. It's waste to the machine in the sense that it isn't what the machine is intended to produce, even if it isn't waste (unusable) to you.

I just run an HMA, no waste and rays love it. Drips at 3 GPH right into the sump at the return pumps. Couldn't be easier.

How do you keep the ph stable?

How do you keep the ph stable?

I keep seashells or crushed coral in the sump. Keeps the pH stable. As they break down I add more.
I have a system down that works for me. I have very little pH fluctuation.
