Thought I share a few things =) (Pictures included)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
haha, keep it up! Your doing great! :)

3 questions:

Those are congo tetras right? if so, they are awesome fish!
How many oscars you have, and what types?
And I may have missed it, but what size tanks?

14 different oscars in total! Some are split up in different tanks!
2 x Zebra Oscars
2 x Ruby Red Oscars
2 x Tiger Oscars
2 x Yellow Albino Oscars
2 x Albino Oscars
2 x Black Oscars
2 x Red Oscars
And these are the names that got sold to me in the fish store! but they all look different, that's the wierd thing, must be genetics!
And yes, those are congo tetras waiting for them to become pretty which is taking forever! they are the slowest grower in the world! I feed them 5 types of food and live worms and krills! and they are still the slowest!
Tank size are 5, 5, 10, 75! and other tanks laying around cuz girlfriend works at a petshop! and we know the owner very well that takes us to fish farms and sells us at discount or cost price =) some oscars were bought for $1.75 CAD

Yo,
props on the tanks.
a couple things, in my very humble opinion:
large gravel can trap harmful gases underneath, so i would go for smaller types of gravel.
another thing, if you have 15 oscars in total, that are split up in your other three tanks which are less than ten gallons. how many do you have in the 70? Also, how often do you have to do water changes with those guys to keep the parameters in check.

could you list your stock in the 70 gal, including sizes? cuz from what i see is a buttload of oscars, aro, giant gourami.

and so does that mean the congo tetra are in the ten gallon?

I ask this only because I think one oscar should have a 55 gallon tank. 125 gallon for a pair. something like that. to have anywhere near 14 in a 70 is pretty ridiculous. I'm not trying to hate, but you gotta be mindful of the fishes' lives.

The arowana is gone! it couldn't live in there, he couldn't get food! and those were juvenile pics of them, they're a little bigger now! the two large gourami is no longer here at my house =( tey grew at ridiculous rate! and u can hate me, but i have 5 oscars in there at the moment! and i haven't mention the 33 and 29 gallon i have! the next upgrade is 180g!
And as for water parameters, as albirdy was saying, it is VERY RIDICULOUS, do not attempt to do 10 juvi in one small tank, cuz they grow like crazy and spit food like crazi, i had to do a 10% water change daily to keep the parameters back to ALMOST normal! and nitrate flies high, that's why i needed so many plants!
And what's a golden panchax? The killi? if u want, I can post more if that's what ur talking about!
And yes, I knew someone would flame on me =) already expected, but i know its just cuz u care, and dun worry, none of them are sick and none of them are hurt at all! as for the baby arowana, it's in another tank now and eating 4 times a day!

Thanks for all the comments guys!
