nothing smartass about it. this is a reply from someone who has concern about the creatures he cares for and is tired of seeing their abuse at the hands of people that say "it's just a fish..."

So wild caught fish don't suffer from ammonia or nitrite poisoning?
And not to mention the potential diseases they might spread to the tank...

Just get a bottle of ammonia

beware of parasites. Realistically I would not cycle a larger tank with any fish that have not gone through quarantine.
