thoughts on emperor 400s?

I run emperor 400s and 280s on some of my tanks. I also run quite a few AC110s. They all work well. Emperors are a little nosier and the spray bars occasionally clog up.
 
Have had both, ease of maintenance on the penguins is a big selling point for me. Though when I need more mechanical filtration on a tank, I do go aquaclear.
 
I've been running 2 on my 135g for 5 years now they work great I'm getting rdy to get some xp3s here soon just because I want to change it up not becuz they dont work great.
 
If I gave AC a 10/10 I would give the Emperor 400 a 9/10. I own both and to me AC has a slight edge based on simplicity, ease to clean, not to mention AC has reusable filters (although you could probably put something together for the E400). AC has just been very reliable, dont have to worry about problems with start up, biowheel, or spray bars malfunctioning

The 400 provides good filtration (+ biowheel), and the AC110 provides good filtration (+ mechanical filtration + better flow)
