Thoughts on fake plants

Use the Largest Reptile Plants, Alot cheaper and looks great in Large tanks. Hang them or anchor to rock or driftwood

Here's a pic of my fake planted tank. I also keep SA/CA cichlids. All the bigger plants I bought from Michaels.

Get big plants from Michaels craft store. They look real and are very cheap.

Yeah. I suck at it. LOL

Michaels & such stores are waay cheaper than actual aquarium plants. Divide them up and put your own weights on, or attach to wood etc. I have those and also some old aquarium specific ones.

You guys have a good idea with Michaels. I will have to check it out. Luckily I have one locally.

Real planted tanks are gorgeous when healthy. but half dead plants look worse to me than fake.

Exactly. The fact that they are pretty clearly dying makes the tank look so much worse than any fake planted tank would.

My tanks are mostly bare now, BUT I can just put bunches back in whenever I want without spending $$

Lucky. I would have to spend a crap-ton of money to stock my tank with live plants again. Another reason I want fakes. Live plants are slowly costing me a fortune. At least fakes ones are only bought once and then you are done. :/

I think fake plants look pretty nice, but the fish dig them up all the time plus if you put them in corners the fish tend to take them for there own territory. and they tend to hold a good amount of dirt, so I like to put sinking wood in my tanks and pieces that do not have sharp ends so if your fish get spooked they do not get messed up.
