Thoughts on Jaguar Cichlid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Funny how hard-on we are about tank sizes and fish happiness might as well leave them in the lakes and the stream that they are used to but you will know when his tank is too small and if your anything like most of the keepers on here that tank will be so tiny to you that you will be looking for a bigger tank anyway before the year is up. I wont buy anything under 135 and even thats a waste money unless your getting africans or goldfish

that isn't a bad point, leaving them where they are; the more I learn about the fish and their space needs ;)

I have kept numerous jags and they never reached 15+ most of them topped out around 13" 125 gallon would be the minimum size for a jag pair. But your 75 will do for around a year to 14 months before you need to upgrade. I would plan to upgrade around the one year mark. They are an awesome fish and all of mine have had great personalities, definitely one of my favourite in the hobby.

I figure I should ask you for some advice since you kept numerous jag cichlids. My question is: are they overrated when it comes to there aggression?. And could I keep them with other cichlids
