EXACTLY!!! we need to start something on MFK to get pacus banned from places like petsmart and petco, no joke

That is part of their marketing plan; sell small fish that grow super fast, then sell the customer a bigger tank (or two).

We should ban them, but we would be up against marketing forces that are usually unstoppable.

If the meat is edible then why dont eat the fish when it grows out of manageable size .. just my thoughts

Typically the water conditioners people use in the tanks make the meat unhealthy to eat.

As a side note, I went to the New England Aquarium on Saturday and they have a big amazon display with Pacu in it. I think everyone thinking about getting one of these fish should be required to see this display. The fish in this tank were at least 3 feet long, and two feet tall, and probably another foot wide. They were gigantic.

They were also in with a huge RTC which is another animal I don't think most people should be allowed to have.

pacus, rtc, tsn, arowanas, ARAPIMIA, irridesent sharks, common plecos, eletric eels, etc. all fish that shouldnt be allowed to anyone who feels like buying them

Those are the "big guns" of the fish industry. They have regulations limiting the size of weapons and ammo civilians can buy. They should do the same for these "weapons of mass bio-load".
