He is a member here by the way. Personally I feel as if he’s helping the hobby a lot by having his rescue. He’s not just taking in big fish that people can’t take care of, he’s also making his work public so that litte timmy can actually see how big that cute little 5 inch red tail catfish can get and doesn’t get it. Honestly I feel that we need more people like him. thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter is the only other person I know of that is doing something like him.

Also thank you for making this thread as it only gives more attention to what he’s doing.

I've really only watched a couple of his you tube videos but I've been to his home, seen his fish and the care he takes of them and he has given talks at the local clubs that I attend so I'm a bit biased in his favor. He is friendly and very passionate about what he is trying to accomplish on caring for fish that have outgrown their original homes.

What specific videos are you concerned about if any?

I think he overstocks tanks.

I think he is a hoarder of fish.

I think he feeds hotdogs to fish.

I think he cannot provide proper care to all those fish and it's board line animal abuse. He can't even take care of himself let alone the fish.

I also think he sends the wrong message. About buying and keeping monster fish.

I also have only seen a few of his videos but never once heard of him buying large fish to house in his big tanks...

However, i do sort of remember him purposely building a bigger tank to house all the rescues he got cause he was running out of space (this was a few years ago) and kept receiving more monsters...

Im almost sure he used to try rehoming “rarer” large fish with zoo’s as well, except most zoos around him are also at max capacity from the rescues...

Someone correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure those things happened...

So in my books hes at least saving the fish instead of them suffering in small tanks (even if they are slightly overstocked?)

There are a lot of idiots out there who buy monster fish as juveniles and then realise they can't house them any longer when they get too big. This guy, from what i've seen, is saving huge fish from a very bad life and giving them a much better one.

The fact that he has a huge quantity of massive tanks, not to mention the 58000g pool he has just finished, all full of fish just goes to show you how many idiots are out there.

I feel for him really because as his popularity rises he's going to get more and more fish lumped on him, at great cost to himself, not to mention the time and dedication needed to look after all those fish.

The title of your thread should have been "thoughts on idiots who purchase monster fish, can't house them properly, and then lump them on big rich". I think you'd get a much better discussion about that rather than a thread about trying to diss the guy.
