Hey guys, my 60Lx30Wx24H tank is up and running, So far I have 3 red spot sevrums, 3 sun catfish, and a Gold nugget pleco. All fish are juvenile right now. For sure I will be adding a Rafael cat, and a Featherfin squeaker.

Options I'm considering:

Silver dollars 5+
Blood parrots
Oscar
Chocolate cichlid
Geophagus
Ghost knife
Clown loaches (do they get too big?)
Lima Shovelnose (too big?)

My other thought was a Big school of tiger barbs or some other small fish, although the sun catfish may eat them. other thoughts?

If anything the oscar would eat the tiger barbs. Also he might try to eat the clown loaches and choke to death on them.
The clown loaches themselves could hit a foot in a decade or so but I wouldn’t worry about them out growing the tank since they take so long to grow.
The shovelnose would also eat the small fish over time. If you want small fish then you can’t have fish with big mouths.

Yeah, I was trying to decide between a large school of smaller fish, or several larger cichlids. I was thinking about Bichir but I'm worried they may go after my gold nugget pleco.

Bichirs don’t normally attack plecos, if anything it’s the other way around. Senegal bichirs are a nice small bichir that normally maxes out around 8-10 inches. Not to big for your tank but I wouldn’t trust a smaller bichir with a shovelnose.

Bgk and geophagus is what I’d suggest for ur consideration.

I think your tank looks great man. And your ideas for stocking are not too bad. I do think you are approaching fully stocked already though, since the severums, sun cats, and featherfin, will all get around 10"+. So that's already 7 10-12" fish. Plus the pleco and raphael which stay smaller, but both make a lot of poop for their size.

I would maybe add a small group of geophagus "Tapajos redhead". They will stay smaller, are quite beautiful, and should work out fine with your stock. Then I would call it a day.

I’d say the tank is big enough for a fire eel but the other inhabitants aren’t good for him. If you wanted to get rhe fire eel then you could center the stock around him. Not too late to get rid of the fish in there now if you want rhe fire eel.
