So picking up a Nuvo Fusion 20 for my first high-tech setup. Planning to run CO2 and really just want to carpet bottom with baby tears, maybe some drift wood with java moss.

Question is, do you think the lights sold with the setup are sufficient / worth getting or should i just get the tank without the lights and pay for a more powerful light setup. Link here to the lights referenced and description pasted below. Spoke to LFS and they directed me to a single-strip ADA set-up, which obviously isn't cheap but puts out much more than these.

Thanks all for the help!

Each clamp boasts 6 x 3 watt LEDs (3 x 10K and 3 x 456nm) that gives the Clamp 18 a powerful 18 watt light output. Alternating LED color pattern blends a unique color spectrum that meets the needs for fish only or reef aquarium.

In respect to the Nuvo line of aquariums, the stock lighting is fine for most plants however when it comes to HC aka Dwarf Baby Tears to grow it into a carpet you'll need better lighting. The Nuvo 20 is 24"x15"x13" if I'm not mistaken... Once you add substrate to the tank will generally leave you with 10" of water depth, which leads me to suggest the Finnex Planted+.

A 24" Finnex Planted+ will give you the lighting you desire, combined with an automated co2 system, and a good dosing regime will leave you with a stunning planted tank!

That's awesome. Very helpful. Was actually looking at the finnex 24/7. Think I'll stick with that.

Is that your tank? Exactly what I'm looking for so would love more detail.

Nah it's not mine, was using the pictures to show how the planted+ is perfect for what you're wanting to do. The planted+ uses 7000k wavelength LED's combine with true 660nm red LED's, and what this does target the peaks in both chlorophyll A and chlorophyll B.

By targeting the peaks in both chlorophyll stages it allows the molecules that absorb sunlight, and uses its energy to synthesise carbohydrates from CO2 and water. Which is why it's a highly sought after light fixture...
