Thoughts on stocking?

Mota or perhaps a Freddie will have it's own tank alone, I am also going to limit myself to a female. Why such a large tank when they only grow to around 10"? Most other folk I have seen suggest a 55/75 for a single specimen for life.

I am also surprised by the responses on the GT I have owned them in the past and were quite mellow fish. I am speaking of the gold saum, I know the silver/white saum is much more prone to nasty a temperament.

Gold Saum and silver saum are essentially the same fish,andinoacara rivulatus. Their temperaments can vary.
You may have been lucky and had laid back individuals in the past.They can also be very aggressive.
Andinoacara stalsbergi is a very aggressive fish maybe that's what you were referring to.
I also don't believe a ten inch fish would be very happy in a 55.
