thoughts on this Cinder Block Stand

well I could pour concrete inside the hollow portion and have re-bar inside? But you guys think wood would be stronger in a earth quake? I mean we're talking about 3,000lbs of fluid moving around. Even if on a wood stand wouldnt it topple over?

NO a properly designed and built wood stand would simply slide as a unit and reduce the stress the way anti-eathquake buildings do. As long as your seams hold and no decoration or furniture break the glass...acryllic then you should survive a small to medium quake....above that...just be lucky enough to get out yourself...
