Thoughts on this heater safe for aquarium?

Can see the passing a small amount of water through a tight space heating it would be much more efficient than trying to warm an area of water with colder water surrounding it surely?
 
Saying “pond heater” is akin to saying “aquarium salt”. It’s a heater. What you need for larger volumes is the appropriate wattage, and appropriately placed so that water flow disperses the heat generated evenly thru your system. The design is really only relevant to the aesthetics of what your specific set up is geared towards 🤙🏼

Wouldn't there also be the problem of using a singular heater that it fails to heat the water?
Is it not a dome thing adding a spare to kick in if that happens
Having a back up is a good idea in the event of an actual heater malfunction, but won’t be of benefit if the power supply is compromised.
I used to run 2 x 500W titanium’s on separate controllers on my 500g. When 1 heater stopped working I discovered the other handled the work load. I do own a back up 500 W heater so I can make an exchange if the other one stops working immediately.
Checking the controller actually water temp twice daily has always been a part of my routine 🤙🏼

My “submersible” sits in my sump directly in the flow of all the water that circulates through my system. I honestly cannot see how having an inline would be any more efficient.
Even time you have to cut hard pipe and put a union or shut off inline you are greatly increasing cost and adding potential fail points to your set up.
At the end of the day it’s your project, your money, and your call 100% 🤙🏼

I Suppose there designed for pond volumes not many people have 3000ltrs of water sat in there home.
Been looking at a 1kw "pond heater" for pond upto 4000ltrs
Yeah I get I need the appropriate wattage my other option would be 4 300watt eheim heaters with external thermostats sat in the outer chamber of one of my filters.
Just tinkering with another idea weigh it out before I take the plunge.

Dude the plumbing is in just a thought I could add an inline with little time yeah the build has already been costly and I'm hoping my first time plumbing works 🤣
It's all set up to be agitated and backwashed straight outside.
Shut off valves are already in place.
No room for a sump underneath I have a 500mm gap in an Access the tank above people will always say why didn't I sump it but it's there now and ain't moving.
Time will only tell how it's gonna hold out just need to get a acrylic black sheet up over the ceiling when it turns up and I can get the window in.
15 days beginning of next week and that's the fiberglass fully cured so I should be good to fill it and test for leaks.
Always something I've wanted to do build a huge tank and not one for giving up 🤣🤣
It's been emotional fun brain ache lots of different emotions going on now just want some enjoyment out of it fully done.
Would I recommend doing it probably not but screw it YOLO 🤙

I have just used an online calculator tank volume room temp desired water temp said partial cover as I'm having sliding glass at front vivarium style.
Says I need a 500w also

Ok so I've ordered a 1300w titanium heater with heating control and probe.
Heater in filter chamber to give a good even heat disperse and prob in main tank. Definitely not the 1w per litre of water recommendation but as I'm only cycling the tank can't really do much harm for a test run.
Failed to mention the floor and walls of the tank is insulated with foil back insulation/celotex.
23mm of ply and a fiberglass layer.
Total overhead height of around 600mm then another 18mm ply sheet laminated with 1.5mm hygiene board.
Viewing window in 25mm laminate glass and will have probably 4 6mm glass sliding panels sat on top of the window vivarium style.
Would say the tank is fairly well insulated and will hold the heat?
