Thoughts on this method for sterilizing aquarium equipment??

If it was black lava rock I'd take you up on that.
I guess I hadn't read your first posts closely enough. I thought this was small landscape pumice like the kind people use as cheap bio filtration.

What could possibly be wrong with the rock? It somehow still has bleach or disease in it?

I just added new rocks I purchased from LFS to my new build and honestly I have more than enough without adding these potentially compromised rocks. I’m a bit of a hypochondriac when it comes to my fish so if anyone wants about 30-40 pounds of beautiful large pieces of red lava rock that I paid about $150 for you can have it for the cost of shipping. Never been bleached, and probably nothing wrong with it, however they were used in thr QT tank which I failed at successfully treating so whoever does buy them should bleach them. I just went to my LFS and they had some beautiful new pieces so I picked them up and I purchased more than enough for my new build so I have no use for these.
