if you had an ammonia spike in the tank then it means that you tank is not cycled properly and thats what killed the fish. they are sensitive fish and like clean water. water quality is the only reason you lost your fish.its not necessary that the other fishes in the tank also have to be sick for water to be bad. sorry for your loss

:iagree:

I don't think BGK are as sensitive as a lot of people think, but the electricity shouldn't directly affect the BGK unless it's in the aquarium itself, like a malfunctioning heater. It probably wasn't acting the same since it was in a new environment. As for the reason it died...what was the diet that the petshop was feeding compared to yours? And yes...water parameters? Tankmates? And how long the tank was set up?

The tank has been running since April and has been cycled since May. I had a small Amm spike because I added 3 fish and I did a WC to relieve. The LFS was feeding just flakes. I was feeding flakes, bloodworms, brine shrimp and put guppies in just to see if it would eat them. Tankmates: 2-bala sharks,2-zebra barbs,2-tetras and 1-bullnose pleco.

smartlove_518 and Littlemonsterfun-the tank has been cycled properly.Whenever you add new fish to your tank you get a small amm spike until your bio can relieve the extra addition of waste. Did a Wc to help.

Thanks for your input.
I am going with an internal parisite that showed its ugly head due to the stress of moving to a new tank.
