im in the middle of draining my 75 to move it and i noticed at first what i though was hairs getting stuck to the side of the tank and once i took a closer look i realized they are thousands of little tiny worms swimming around and getting stuck to the sides. Any idea what they are? The red devil i had in there is as healthy as ever.

Probably nematodes. Are they little, white, and noodle-like?

Planaria are very uncommon. The next few posts will suggest you have planaria. Ignore them. Unless they are sticking to the glass and crawling like slugs. Then you might actually have planaria after all.

Pics would help, but remember that flatworms like planaria are flat, where roundworms like nematodes are round. Imagine that. Flatworms are flat.

i might have seen some of these on my filters also. they seem harmless unless they grow out and colonize to the rest of the tank. know how to get rid of them?

Reduce feedings to limit their numbers. They are useful in filters to break down debris. The danger is having a large population die all at once and pollute the tank. Keep their numbers down and it's not a risk.

Build up of tiny whitish worms on the aquarium glass are usually 'planaria' worms. Too much food protein introduced in tank brings them on. Water changes tend to keep them in check.

Have to feed less...tough with rd cause of messy eaters...over feeding or excess food is the culprit I think. Just gravel vac more often and they will slowly disappear.

they pop up in my tanks in large numbers AFTER water change o.o im so scared of them but so far they seem to have done no harm. and actually, i think my masheers just gobble them right up as food .

Over feeding make sense. Up until a week ago I was still living with my parents. My mom tells me every time I come home that my fish "look hungry" and I had a feeling she was feeding them behind my back. I constantly tell her that I know what I'm doing but "mothers know best" I guess ha ha. Hopefully now that I am on my own again I can regulate feeding better and this should cease to be a problem.

My mother would tell me the same thing when I was keeping my tanks at her house lol. I agree with everyone else, reducing feedings and aggressive gravel vacuuming should take care of it.
