Three way Aggression & Dominance

I was relaxing in my fishroom last night after a long day and noticed something funny. This happened in my 240 g grow out tank.

1) 6" male GT was chasing my 5" Lyonsi
2) 5" Lyonsi would see my 6" shine spot Synspilum and chase it
3) The Sysnpilum would turn and see the GT and chase it promting it chase the Lyonsi.

The chasing lasted for minutes and was going in circles. It's cool how one fish is dominant over another but would be submissive towards a fish that is submissive to the fish he's chasing.....It was hard to write that....I'm confused now .

Have you guys noticed this type of behavior with fish pets?
