Three way Aggression & Dominance

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ive noticed this alot with my guys... My Lutino Oscar chases my Tiger Oscar, who then chases my JD, who then gets into a jaw locking fight with the Lutino.

I think as Cichlids are quite intelligent, they get chased, and in the bad modd that this puts them in, they have to chase another fish to regain some form of dominance.

thats my take on it.

Ha! I noticed it yesterday when I stopped by. The green terror would not quit.

Lol, I'll give it back to RexFish (original owner)

That's why we love keeping cichlids such interesting behaviors.

Yeah, I know. a lot of Different personalities and unpredictable too.

LOL... You should have tapped it and put the Scooby Doo sound on it.

Per EWOK and HOUSE64, I was on drugs so was not able to record it :D

The GTs already giving you problems :)

You want it back? :D

My gold saum Precious dominates all but the Midavil. No one messes with Bertha in my tank.

Smart fish. Sometimes GTs are too aggressive for their own good.

i've noticed something similar to this with some of my females in same tank. usually with my males there is a order, and one is top dog. the top dog fish usually don't put up with much outta any sub-dominate males fighting each other or him.

I'll put back the Beani and see what happens.

I'm not the only one...that's good

I agree, being territorial is just part of their nature.

My three way aggression is a little different lol.

Wow, that's cool and a picture to back it up. Mine was just a dream per some members :D

Yeah the system of checks & balances. One reason I try multple animals together less chance of a 1 on 1 death match. there is always some one other fish to counter.

That's funny i was gonna post something similar. My 4" hrp chases an equal sized female grammodes, who chases a 6 inch intermedius who in turn chases my Hrp.

That's how my 240 g is set-up right now. Some chasing but very minor damages.
