So I was reading a review of the Finnex Planted+ 24/7 light and saw it has a thunderstorm mode. I got an idea for a 33G Long aquarium I wanted to do, filled with plants, some interested fish, tannins, driftwood, leaf litter, etc. The thunderstorm mode makes me wonder if I can set a timer once a week to have an automatic water change that empties as is fills, with a bar along the top simulating rain with the light on thunderstorm mode, alongside some speakers quietly playing thunderstorm sounds. It'd be a once a week thing, and the tank would be in my room, so it would definitely help me sleep. What do you guys think for both stocking ideas and ideas on how this could work? I think it'd be my biggest project and would be really cool.

That would be a lot of work to make happen and probably not worth it for such a small aquarium. But to put a auto auto water change system in you’ll need to have a hot and cold supply and a drain to your septic system. You will also need to drill your aquarium and have a sprinkler system to execute the water change. Then there’s all the plumbing materials that will not be cheap that I won’t go into. You will also need to figure out how to get the light to go into thunderstorm mode at the proper time.

It's all theoretical right now. Maybe you're right on being worth it for a small aquarium. Maybe when I move and get a basement for a bedroom. Oh well. Any ideas for the stocking at least (including plants, inverts, fish)?

SA dwarf Cichlid specie and a small group of Tetra or Pencil fish maybe Corydora for bottom dwellers.

I'm think maybe some dwarf cichlids, like Apistos, Dwarf Pike Cichlids (1 pair maybe) to fill my need and want for a predator, maybe Pictus Catfish, and some Hatchet Fish or some kind of schooling fish for the top. Maybe an African Butterfly to fill the top predator, but that's just an idea.

I have a Fluval light with Thunderstorms. The two times I set it to Tstorms all the fish scattered and hide in caves what have you. I think it scares them so only gonna use it from now on if I have to stop some kind of aggression issue and need to get them to stop while I get a net to move a fish or something like that.
