Agreed. That stuff is no more effective than a large water change.

No uv on this tank. It is my growout tank guess i should but one on this also. I will keep his water clean and see how it goes.

There is no agreement on Melafix. Some swear by it. Others, like you guys, say it is useless. Larry the "Apistomaster" on PCF is one such prominent figure who says one's far better off using proven antibiotics, forget melafix and pimafix.

Just do your water changes. It will be fine. My monster tig constantly getting cut up on driftwood and occasionally gets a good chunk taken out by one of my gars during feedings. 100x worse than what your posting.

Scuffs like yours not tail streamer missing dorsal fin missing peck fins
This has been happening on and off for 7 years and the tig heals fast no infection so I swear by my uv
