hello all i just purchased a couple of datnoid pulchers 3 inchers. i was wonderin if these would do well in a 15 gallon grow out with a african tiger fish

uhmmm they woudl do fine together but prolly not in a 15 gall. it is too small for 4 fishes in there

ya i would get a bigger tank and then they should do fine

the african tiger fish will crash everywhere and in a very confined space (15 gallon tank), you're risking a lot more than you'd want.

they're very skittish and some have been known to kill themselves by crashing into the side of the tank. you want a very very spacy aquarium, even for a small specimen.

also one of the dats has a cloudy type eye on its left side, any recommendations to get this out, also will this effect it any. also it has a cut on its back of its dorsal fin i was wonderin if this would heal over time

Agreed ;)

You are gonna have a disaster.

15 gal would be ok for about a .5" ATF. to get it to 4-6" you would need a 60-125 gal. Beyond 6" at least a 180gal until it hits 8-10" then you need larger.

I have a 3" in a 60gal and the tank is too small for him... they need SPACE

In addition to that little problem, a small ATF is WAY more delicate than dats. He is gonna get his ass handed to him, or just swallowed. A thin. long fish, your 3" dats will think he is a feeder, unless he bigger than they are

ive ketp this ATF in this grow out tank since it was very little and it does fine without running into crap size wise the dats like half the length of the atf in this small tank so it wont be eatin by the dats for sure
